A New Name | Empowered: Where Am I?

As I was considering what to share with you all today I was honestly feeling powerless and void of inspiration. Do you ever have one of those days when you just feel so unproductive spiritually? You know the ones… the days when you just go through the motions, the routines, the schedule, and long for bedtime and a chance to get up have another cup of coffee and try again? But the Holy Spirit drew my attention to a passage in Romans and I believe this is for me and for you too:

“We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love. When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners.”  Romans 5:3-6
Dear Bride, the Holy Spirit in you is always at work. On your toughest days, He’s faithful. Christ CAME for us when we were helpless… He still comes to us when we FEEL helpless and reminds us we are not helpless!
Feelings of insecurity, unsettled emotions, mental blocks, and thoughts not focused on Christ are problems and trials meant to help us develop endurance just as much as anything we face as a result of living in a fallen state. Sometimes we need to take the thought of needing a “redo” and another cup of coffee captive to obey Christ. Because girls the reality is we don’t need “coffee and Jesus”… we simply need Jesus. He has given us this beautiful Comforter to lead and guide us along the right path. The most beautiful paths I’ve ever walked are not straight and flat – they have twists and turns and drops and hills and water and rocks and they stretch me and beckon me to keep going because I can’t see what is ahead, but I know it’s beautiful and it is for me. And on that path He gives me joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control…. He gives me His love!
Another verse came to mind as I was writing this… I hope you have an amazing day, Bride! Keep your eyes on The Groom!
“You are a hiding place for me;
you preserve me from trouble;
you surround me with shouts of deliverance.Selah
8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will counsel you with my eye upon you.” Psalms 32:7-8 (ESV)
