When we say yes with all our heart, we are saying yes to a very personal God who encourages relationships. The Bible says in Romans 5:11 “So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.” Saying yes to Jesus makes us friends with God! That’s amazing! The way we grow that friendship is the same as we grow any friendship; spending time listening (meditation), talking to each other (prayer), learning about each other (reading the Bible.)
When I think about discipline it is never a pretty mental image, to me it’s one of those no fun words. However, this changes when I read about spiritual disciplines- my soul longs for that. I love Exodus 33:11 “The Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend.” The desire to be spoken to by God as a friend makes the work of being spiritually disciplined so much easier. I love connecting with girls who at the next level and watching how they walk out their relationship with Jesus. They inspire me to go deeper, stay longer and go further in.
Knowing Jesus is an amazing gift, but fully knowing who Jesus says you are in Him can be mind blowing. As you walk further in a relationship with Jesus, take the time to discover who He says you are in His word. Ephesians 1:4-11 shows us a glimpse of God’s heart, we were loved before the earth was formed, adopted into God’s family, showered with kindness and grace, and we have received an inheritance. Oh, dear friend, God loves you so much! Engage with Him this week, share your heart and allow God to speak in your world. Time with Jesus is the best beauty regimen you can follow, allow his truth to enter into your heart and watch how His joy shows on your face. You are so loved and so beautiful!! ~ Love Kim
