“for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Matthew 6:21
Today we begin to unwrap what it means to “Say Yes” with “All My Heart”. Can you remember the day you “asked Jesus into your heart” and in doing so invited the most valuable of all treasures into the very core of who you are? When Jesus reigns over our hearts our faith in Him and His goodness and love directs the very core of who we are and at times His direction doesn’t line up with our logic and the world’s wisdom.
In the journal Steph gave us beautiful words describing what it means to her to love God with all her heart. She reminds us it is an everyday choice “to trust Him when logic and wisdom seem like the right path.”
Faith often asks us to lay aside our logic and the wisdom of experience and trust God. Today I encourage you to read Matthew 6:19-21 and make special note to meditate on verse 21.
The Greek word for treasure in this verse refers to a “store-house for precious things”. You will find your most precious treasures in your will, your character, and your intentions as those beautiful parts of you make up your heart. What does your heart “say yes” to on a daily basis? Does that “yes” reflect your love of God?
There is beautiful treasure in logic and wisdom – but let us remember to keep our eyes fixed on the Source of both because Jesus is the greatest treasure we will ever know. May He be the focus of your “yes” today, Bride! All eyes on The Groom!
Questions to discuss:
- What comes to mind when you think about the phrase “all my heart”?
- What comes to mind when you consider your treasure?
- Read Deuteronomy 6:5 and Matthew 6:19-21. Where is your treasure today? How is your treasure guiding your heart’s “yes”?
