Meet Sarah – Contributor for Engaged: Simplicity

Hello friends, my name is Sarah and my life is highly predictable and so I have been invited to share about the discipline of simplicity in the Winter 2018 issue of The Grace Mask Journal. I’m married to Lane and we have two children, Zechariah (11) and Grace (9). Zechariah has Autism. In order for him to have a successful day, he has to have a familiar routine guiding most of his life. I run his routine, so my story directly structures his story.

I was saved at age six in children’s church and I never walked away. My parents were heavily involved in church, so my brothers and I were also heavily involved. We were a military family and we moved about every four or five years. But wherever we moved to, my parents made it a priority to find and get involved with a church as soon as possible. Because of this constant exposure to church, I had a lot of head knowledge about Jesus. But my heart knowledge of Him has really grown since my son’s diagnosis. Zechariah’s birth was a miracle, but the bigger miracle has been trusting Jesus to help us find our way every day to succeed…
