All My All: Malinda

My name is Malinda Yoast. I live in Springfield, Missouri, with my family. My assignment for the Fall Introductory issue is “Say Yes: With All Your Might”. I look forward this opportunity to encourage the Bride of Christ with a deep part of my story but for now, let me tell you what Jesus has done for me…

Made Whole…

Psalm 147:3″ He Heals the broken hearted and binds up their wounds.” I was a very broken girl and always seeking to fill that empty part of my heart with something or someone other than Jesus. Although I grew up in the church and knew of Jesus I never really knew Jesus personally until I was 40 years old. I will never forget the day He transformed my heart! So much was broken in me, but that night God restored me completely.  I am no longer broken and I know Jesus will take all that restored brokenness in my past to help others see their worth in Jesus – that only Jesus can fill that empty spot in your heart.

His Words Evoking Beauty…

Psalm 139:14-15 ” I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made……….” I have to remind myself of this verse every morning. I have come from a very low self esteem to gradually accepting myself for the wonderful person God made me in His image. When I let this reality overtake my heart and mind, I see myself as a beautiful child of God. His church is a body of broken people saved and beautiful because of the death and resurrection of Christ.  When I look at His church I am reminded of the grace that covers all of us; we’ve done nothing to deserve that grace and it brings me to tears.

Bringing Out the BEST…

I love Jesus with all of my heart and long for others to see Jesus shining through my life. I pray my walk gets closer and closer to him so people see him when they see me. I long to be His hands and feet on earth so that when I get to heaven He will look at me and smile, saying “well done good and faithful servant”.  My favorite thing about the church is that it is filled with broken, restored people just like me. Together as a family we get to lift up His name in praises and share all of our prayers and praises with each other. In the church, I am able to learn even more about Jesus, my very best friend.
