“I am overwhelmed with joy in the Lord my God!
For he has dressed me with the clothing of salvation
and draped me in a robe of righteousness.
I am like a bridegroom dressed for his wedding
or a bride with her jewels.” Isaiah 61:10 (New Living Translation)
In Ancient Hebrew Culture the price the groom pays for his bride often covered the cost of her dress in ancient times. And in most cases she would use that provision to make her wedding dress. As the time drew near for his return she would wear it at all times so she was ready for him. The dress also provided protection as it identified her as being spoken for. This making and wearing of her dress required daily maintenance which is only possible because of the gift of His Grace.
The Bride of Christ is easy to identify when she is properly dressed. First let’s take a look at some things you may be “wearing” today that are NOT a part of the Bridal gown. Jesus traded you for these old garments so you wouldn’t have to wear them anymore.
