Tiffany | My Only Hope

My name is Tiffany.

I learned about The Grace Mask from my sister Tracy and my friend Holly who both shared their stories here in 2013.

As a child I was safe and happy! My parents loved me and brought me up in the instruction of the Lord. I learned about Jesus at home and from regular attendance to church services. I was active in our church youth group and as a volunteer. My church family provided a second home to me.

I gave my heart to Jesus when I was a child. I remember being in a children’s church service and telling my pastor that I wanted Jesus to live in my heart. I was 6 years old when I made that big decision and I know Jesus has been with me all this time.

Before Jesus captured my heart I was obviously completely dependent on my family. As a teen I was head-over-heels for Jesus but after I got married in 2001, I put my husband on a pedestal he didn’t deserve. No one deserves Jesus’ place in a girl’s heart. I relied too heavily on my husband to meet all my needs. My pride for my children and our “happy family” replaced my worship for Jesus.

I recommitted my life to Christ in 2010. I found myself in a very difficult time and aching for a sure and steady Hand to hold mine. My mom had been diagnosed with cancer and my marriage was falling apart.  I knew I was facing a divorce. I remember sitting on my washing machine (trying to physically hide) and crying out to God for help. I knew my only hope for surviving both situations was completely letting go of everything and reaching for the hand of my Savior. My husband did eventually leave. My mom had surgery the week before Christmas, 2010. In 2011 she went through chemo and radiation for 10 months. It was a very difficult year for our entire family but Mom has been cancer free since 2011! God was faithful to me through both of these trials. My family is no longer my security, but we all have our hope in our savior Jesus. Freedom and grace are abundant in families who serve Jesus together. We are not perfect, and we know it, so we look to the One who IS.

It’s an amazing feeling to hold the hand of Jesus as His Bride! I am so blessed to know that no matter what I’ve done, or will do, Christ’s mercy and forgiveness will always be life changing as I willingly hold His hand and walk with Him all the way! He loves me and He won’t let me go. It’s awesome to know that in His eyes… I have no blemishes, no mistakes! I am perfect in His sight!

As I look ahead in life I have amazing peace! I have never been closer to Jesus than I am now. He knows the desires of my heart, He’s opened so many doors. It’s tough being a single mom, but He has guided my steps to where I am today! He always brings good out of EVERY situation – beauty from ashes!

It’s so exciting to see God’s plan unfolding in my life. He is allowing me to go back to school and persue the career of my dreams. He has spoken to my heart often encouraging me to use my story to help other women. I don’t ever want to settle for less than what God has in store for me! I want my kids to see their mom faithfully trusting Jesus for everything, I want to be a good example for them. I’m so blessed by my children and so thankful that God has given me the chance to raise them up to know Him. I only get one chance at this and with the help of Jesus, I’m giving them my very best.

My anchor verses:

Philippians 4:6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

2 Corinthians 5:7 . . . we walk by faith, not by sight.
Romans 8:28 And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. 29 For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.30 And having chosen them, he called them to come to him. And having called them, he gave them right standing with himself. And having given them right standing, he gave them his glory. 31 What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. 12 In those days when you pray, I will listen. 13 If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.
